WinMedia TV Solution Powered up at CANAL10

French Caribbean, 07 06 2011, CANAL10 is a private French generic TV channel broadcasting in French and creole language on analogic, TNT, Satellite and ADSL French provider.
Canal 10 was created in 1986 and became quickly well-known and popular as they opened their program to social and local questions.

Canal 10 has made its technical revolution by switching from completely manual broadcast with DVD to automatic and scheduled broadcast.

The Solution
The solution custom-tailored by WinMedia include a on air and server DL 180 with 10 TO in RAID 5 with a Black magic Design Extreme for Broadcasting in HD/SDI , two HP Z400 for production and scheduling with Black magic Design Studio Video card for acquiring and editing video sources, a DL 160 for video logging in 720x576 and a bit rate of 7676kb/s for high quality re-broadcasting.
 
The workflow is now smooth and more efficient combining Live/automatic assist, ingest and scheduling.
The scheduling template is done for the whole week, including ads break, Jingle, show and video preparing of the final result before it goes on air.
The ads break used to be prepared manually one hour before the Broadcasting of the break, with WinMedia now the ads are scheduled as long in advance as needed; each hour, programs are automatically  loaded and the operator has just to hit a key to launch the ads break when the presenter is ready.
Same is done with the music, preparation of the mix and fade in/out are done on the scheduling computer, then it’s loaded and WinMedia automatically display in over lay the video with the Artist / show – Title name.
